Dog Flap
Dog Flaps & Dog Doors – PetSafe, Staywell & Dog Mate
Give your dog the freedom to come and go with our range of dog flaps and dog doors from leading brands including PetSafe, Staywell and Dog Mate. From small pet doors through to extra-large dog doors for breeds such as Labradors and German Shepherds, we stock a wide choice of sizes, designs and replacement parts.
Choosing the right dog door isn't just about selecting Small, Medium or Large. The most important measurements are your dog's shoulder height and body width, together with the dimensions and construction of the door, panel or wall where the pet door will be installed.
What Size Dog Flap Do I Need?
Dog doors are available in a wide range of sizes. If you're buying for a puppy, remember to consider the approximate size your dog will reach when fully grown rather than choosing a flap they'll quickly outgrow.
Before ordering, measure:
- Shoulder Height – Measure from the floor to the top of your dog's shoulders.
- Body Width – Measure the widest part of your dog's body.
- Pet Door Opening – Compare your dog's measurements with the actual flap opening, not simply the overall frame size.
- Installation Thickness – Check the thickness and construction of your existing door or panel.
Breed recommendations are useful as a guide, but individual dogs of the same breed can vary considerably in size.
PetSafe Staywell Aluminium Dog Doors
The PetSafe Staywell 600 Series Aluminium Dog Doors are designed for households looking for a strong, durable pet door suitable for regular use.
The aluminium frames feature reinforced corners, while the flexible flap uses magnetic closure and weather stripping to help reduce draughts around the opening.
A slide-in closing panel is also supplied, allowing you to prevent access through the pet door when required.
The range includes different sizes for different dogs, including the very large PetSafe Staywell 660 Extra Large Dog Door.

PetSafe Extreme Weather Dog Doors
If reducing draughts and heat loss is particularly important, consider a PetSafe Extreme Weather Dog Door.
These insulated pet doors use a three-flap design, with an insulated centre section positioned between the outer flaps. This provides additional protection against outside temperatures compared with a basic single-flap pet door.
The flap sections can be adjusted after installation to help achieve the correct alignment.
Extreme Weather doors are a particularly useful option for external doors, kennels, utility areas and other locations where a conventional pet flap could allow excessive cold air through the opening.

Dog Mate Dog Doors by Pet Mate
The Dog Mate range from Pet Mate provides another excellent choice of pet doors, with models available for small, medium and large dogs.
Dog Mate doors are known for their straightforward construction, clear pet-friendly flaps and replaceable components.
The range includes options for smaller dogs as well as the substantial Dog Mate 216 Large Dog Door for many Labradors, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and similarly sized dogs.
Always check the individual opening dimensions against your dog's measurements before ordering.
Replacement Dog Flaps & Spare Parts
A damaged or worn flap doesn't necessarily mean replacing the complete dog door.
We stock a range of replacement dog door flaps and spare parts for existing PetSafe, Staywell and Dog Mate pet doors. Replacing the flap can be a simple and economical way to extend the life of an existing installation.
Before ordering a replacement, check the model number of your existing pet door. Several models can look very similar while using different flap sizes or fittings.

Can You Fit a Dog Flap into a uPVC Door?
Yes, many dog flaps can be installed into a suitable uPVC door panel. However, the construction of the door needs to be checked before cutting.
A flat uPVC panel is generally much easier to work with than a reinforced, moulded, composite or glazed door.
For larger dog doors, replacing an existing lower glazed section with a suitable reinforced panel can sometimes provide a more practical installation solution.
Can You Install a Dog Door in Glass?
Some smaller pet doors designed around a circular glass cut-out can be installed into appropriately prepared glass.
Large dog doors normally require a substantial rectangular opening and are therefore a very different proposition.
Never attempt to cut an existing toughened or double-glazed glass unit. Where a pet door is being installed into suitable glazing, a replacement glass unit should normally be manufactured with the required opening already incorporated.
Dog Flaps for Walls
Selected dog doors can also be installed through walls. Wall installations normally require a properly constructed tunnel between the internal and external sections of the pet door.
The total wall thickness, tunnel dimensions and weatherproofing all need to be considered before installation.
Which Dog Door Is Best for Cold Weather?
Every pet door creates an opening through the building, so some degree of heat transfer is unavoidable. If insulation is a priority, look for a dog door designed specifically to improve weather resistance.
The PetSafe Extreme Weather range uses multiple flap layers, including an insulated centre section, making it worth considering for exposed external locations.
Which Dog Door Is Best for a Large Dog?
For larger dogs, concentrate on the actual flap opening dimensions rather than the product description alone.
Large and extra-large options in our range include models from both PetSafe Staywell and Dog Mate. The correct choice depends on your dog's height, width and build as well as the available installation space.
