PetSafe Staywell 740 Chartwell Green on White Medium Dog Flap
The PetSafe Staywell 740 Chartwell Green on White Medium Dog Flap is a two-colour version of the popular Staywell 740, with a Chartwell Green external frame and a white internal frame.
Designed for medium and smaller dogs as well as larger cats, the door features a strong rigid clear flap and is supplied with an internal slide-in closing panel and tunnel sections for suitable doors and panels.
Chartwell Green Outside, White Inside
This version is specifically finished with Chartwell Green on the external side and white on the internal side.
This makes it a useful option where you want the outside of the pet door to complement a Chartwell Green uPVC or composite door while retaining a clean white finish inside the property.
Colour & Warranty Notice – Please Read Before Ordering
This is a professionally sprayed-to-order product and is therefore not returnable.
The external part of the original PetSafe door is professionally prepared and sprayed to produce the Chartwell Green finish. The internal side remains white.
Because the Chartwell Green finish is applied after manufacture, the sprayed finish is not covered by the PetSafe manufacturer's warranty.
Due to preparation, spraying and handling, there may be minor marks or signs of handling. These do not affect the performance or usability of the dog door.
Colour accuracy: Chartwell Green can vary between different door, window and profile manufacturers. Screen settings, lighting and the difference between sprayed and foiled finishes can also affect how the colour appears.
The external frame is intended to complement Chartwell Green doors and frames, but an exact match to foiled uPVC, composite doors or factory-coloured products cannot be guaranteed.

Internal Slide-In Closing Panel
The Staywell 740 is supplied with an internal slide-in closing panel. This allows you to completely close the dog flap when you don't want your pet to use it.
It can also be useful during particularly cold or windy weather.
Important: Before cutting your door, make sure there is enough clear space above the pet door for the closing panel to slide upwards and be removed.
Fitting and Installation
Carefully check all measurements before cutting your door or panel. The required cut-out is approximately 281mm x 237mm.
When cutting the opening, we recommend keeping the hole no more than approximately 2mm larger than the required cut-out. The small remaining gap can then be sealed with suitable silicone to provide a neat, weather-resistant installation.
The supplied tunnel sections can be used to line the cut edge of suitable doors and panels. The tunnel sections are best secured using a suitable adhesive such as Stelmax contact adhesive.
A suitable neutral-cure silicone can be used between the door panel and pet door tunnel to help seal the installation and reduce draughts.
Installing Through a Wall
The PetSafe Staywell 740 can also be installed through a wall or thicker panel, although additional lining materials will normally be required.
The supplied tunnel sections are designed for installations up to approximately 2 inches / 50mm thick. For deeper walls or panels, you will need to construct an additional tunnel lining.
Suitable materials such as uPVC soffit board or rigid sheet material can be used to create a neat passage through the opening.
Can It Be Fitted to a Composite Door?
Yes, the Staywell 740 can be fitted into many composite doors, but the door construction and decorative mouldings must be checked before installation.
Raised mouldings can interfere with the pet door frame. You must also allow enough clearance above the dog flap for the internal closing panel to slide upwards.
The exposed edge of a cut composite door should be properly sealed against moisture. Where appropriate, trim, architrave or rigid angle can be used around the cut opening to create a neat and weather-resistant finish.
Consider an Extreme Weather Dog Door

These models use a multi-flap design to provide improved insulation compared with a conventional single-flap pet door. Always check the frame dimensions, cut-out and internal clearance before selecting a different model.
