Installing a conventional pet door creates an opening through an otherwise insulated exterior door. The PetSafe Extreme Weather three-flap design has been developed specifically to improve protection around this opening.

Paintable Outer Frame

Installation Information

The Extreme Weather Dog Door is supplied with its internal tunnel set for approximately a 50mm panel thickness. For installation into thinner doors or panels, the plastic tunnel sections can be carefully trimmed to suit the required thickness.

Because this pet door uses a three-flap construction, installation and adjustment can take a little longer than fitting a basic single-flap dog door.

Before final tightening, check that:

• All tunnel sections are correctly located
• The centre insulated flap hangs freely
• The outer flaps are correctly aligned
• The lower magnets line up correctly
• Each flap opens freely and returns to its closed position
• The frame sits squarely against the door or panel

Take care when using the closing panel, as unnecessary force can place additional pressure on the frame and its fixings.
