PetSafe Extreme Weather Large Dog Door

The PetSafe Extreme Weather Large Dog Door is designed to give larger dogs the freedom to come and go while helping protect your home against draughts, cold weather and changing outside temperatures.

Unlike a conventional single-flap dog door, the PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door uses a three-flap system to create additional insulation across the opening. PetSafe states that the design provides up to 3.5 times greater energy efficiency than its standard single-flap pet doors.

Designed for dogs weighing up to approximately 100lb (45kg), this Large model has a generous 10 1/8" x 16 1/4" flap opening.

Triple-Flap Extreme Weather Design

The three-flap system provides an additional barrier between the inside of your home and the weather outside.

The flexible flaps are designed to allow your dog to pass through comfortably while helping reduce the movement of cold air through the pet door when it is not being used.

Energy-Efficient Dog Door

The central insulated flap works between the two flexible outer flaps to improve thermal performance compared with a traditional single-flap pet door.

This makes the Extreme Weather range particularly useful for external doors where reducing draughts and heat loss is important.

Snap-On Closing Panel

A closing panel is supplied with the dog door. This can be fitted when you want to restrict your dog's access through the door and provides an additional barrier across the opening when the pet door is not required.

Choosing the Correct Size

Do not select a pet door using your dog's weight alone. Measure your dog's shoulder width and body height and compare these measurements with the actual flap opening.

For this Large model, the flap opening is approximately 257mm wide x 413mm high.

Important Installation Information

Before cutting your door, check the actual PetSafe frame and installation template against the intended installation position.

Pay particular attention to internal reinforcement, raised panels, mouldings and other parts of the door which could interfere with the pet door frame.

Security & Child Safety

A large dog door should not be relied upon as a security barrier. Consider its position carefully and make sure somebody reaching through the opening cannot easily access door handles, keys, locks or other security devices.

Care should also be taken in homes with small children. The closing panel is designed to control pet access and should not be treated as a substitute for appropriate child-safety or home-security measures.
