PetSafe Staywell 900 Series Replacement Flap Installation Guide

Compatible Models

This replacement flap is designed to fit the following PetSafe Staywell Classic 900 Series cat flaps:

• 916
• 917
• 919
• 932
• 934

Before You Start

Please check that your existing cat flap is one of the compatible models listed above before installing the replacement flap.

You Will Need

• A small flat-blade screwdriver (if required)
• A clean cloth
• The replacement flap and magnet supplied in the pack

Removing the Old Flap

1. Open the existing cat flap.
2. Locate the pivot pins at the top corners of the flap.
3. Gently flex one side of the flap towards the centre to release a pivot pin.
4. Once one side is free, remove the opposite pivot pin and lift the flap out.
5. Remove the old magnet from the flap housing if it has become detached.

Installing the New Flap

1. Check that the replacement magnet is fitted correctly in the bottom of the new flap.
2. Position one of the top pivot pins into the corresponding hole in the cat flap frame.
3. Carefully flex the opposite side of the flap and guide the second pivot pin into place.
4. Release the flap and ensure both pivot pins are fully seated in the frame.
5. Open and close the flap several times to confirm smooth operation.

Final Checks

• Ensure the flap swings freely in both directions.
• Check that the magnet aligns correctly when the flap closes.
• Confirm that the flap sits squarely within the frame.
• Test the cat flap lock (if fitted) to ensure it operates correctly.

Maintenance

To keep your cat flap operating smoothly:

• Clean the flap regularly with warm soapy water.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Periodically check the pivot points for dirt or debris.
• Replace damaged magnets if necessary.
