How to Replace the Staywell 700 Series Flap
Replacing the flap is straightforward, although the first replacement can take a little longer while you become familiar with how the flap and retaining bar fit together.
- Remove the pet door from the door or panel by undoing the fixing screws.
- Carefully remove the damaged flap and any remaining pieces.
- Fit the U-shaped top bar onto the new replacement flap.
- Check that the flap is facing in the correct direction.
- Keep the flap and top bar straight and carefully insert them into the top of the pet door frame.
- Push the retaining lugs firmly into their locating positions.
- Check that the replacement flap moves freely.
- Reassemble the pet door and refit it into the existing opening.
Once installed, check that the flap opens, closes and returns to its normal resting position correctly before allowing your pet to use the door.
