How Does the Magnetic Collar Key Work?

The small magnetic key attaches to your cat's collar. When your cat approaches a compatible Staywell magnetic cat flap, the magnet operates the mechanical locking mechanism and allows the flap to open.

There are no batteries, electronics or programming involved. Simply attach the magnetic key to a suitable collar and your compatible cat flap can recognise the magnet when your cat approaches.
