The microchip reading distance can be affected by materials surrounding the flap. Metal, foil-backed insulation and steel reinforcement may reduce scanner performance.

Before cutting into a wall, always check for:

The tunnel should be installed level and securely supported so all five extensions remain correctly aligned.

Door and Glass Installation

The cat flap can also be fitted into suitable timber, uPVC and metal doors. Where metal reinforcement is present, the supplied adaptor may help improve scanner performance by separating the flap from surrounding metal.

For double-glazed or toughened glass, a new glass unit must be manufactured with the correct opening before installation. Existing sealed or toughened glass cannot normally be cut.
